A towns central market place in Israel is called a Shuk, which is where Shuk Bondi takes its inspiration.
Located in the heart of North Bondi, Shuk has been delighting Sydneysiders for years with fantastic Israeli and Mediterranean fare in a very trendy environment.
Formally a corner-store, Shuk is an elegant 80 seat establishment, offering an incredible array of Israeli/Mediterranean delights for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Using fresh produce and dishes that promise a flavour of Israel mixed with modern favourites, there is something on the menu for everyone, even if you need to grab takeaway, Shuk offers a variety of freshly baked pastries and breads with great coffee.
A favourite dish of ours is the shakshuka. This large traditional dish of baked eggs in a spicy, thick tomato sauce is served with whole loaves of freshly baked bread, designed to scoop up as much of the sauce as possible.
Also noteworthy is the teff pancake, made with Ethiopian teff flour, ricotta, sweet dukkah, maple, apple and pear compote, halva (a sweet common in parts of the Middle East and North Africa), berries and crushed pistachios. Also, the felafel’s are to die for!
Open for breakfast and lunch everyday, Shuk is also open for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights, so be sure to check this great place out.
